WANT TO BE SPECIAL?
If so, becoming a Special Constable with Northamptonshire Police might be just the answer.

|
Special Constables are extremely valuable members of the policing family.
They have the same powers as regular officers and get involved in all aspects of police work, in particular working alongside regular officers and PCSOs as part of our Safer Community Teams.

So, if you’re looking for a new challenge or perhaps want to give something back to your community, you could be exactly the person East Northants is looking for.
If you are over 18, able to volunteer for a minimum of four hours per week, and would like to find out more about becoming a Special, contact Lizzi Betts on 03000 111 222 ext 2098 or e-mail lizzi.betts@northants.police.uk.
GIVE OR TAKE DAY
Give or take days are an excellent way of encouraging local residents to get together and swap unwanted items. Reusing items is a great way of stopping good quality items and valuable materials going needlessly to landfill. They are also a good way of fundraising for local projects. Normally NCC try to carry out three events a year. The events are very popular but they cannot be everywhere at once!
Below is the 2009 Give or Take Day guide. The guide helps any organisation who may wish to, plan their own event. Please take a look and perhaps enquire whether anyone in your local community is interested in organising their own Give or Take Day. It is an excellent opportunity to do something waste-conscious and community focussed at the same time.
The guide is also available as a download on the Northamptonshire County Council website under waste and recycling – campaigns – reuse. Click here to visit the site for the Reuse Campaign
