Raunds Mayor, Cllr Sylvia Hughes has spoken to Howdens, the UK's leading trade kitchen supplier who have a depot here in Raunds about a new Government scheme they are offering. These placements are for a 6 month period for young people aged between 18-24 years old who are currently receiving Universal Credit.

There is a wide variety of job opportunities available from working in the depots, IT, Digital Solutions, Operations, Supply Chain and E Commerce teams.

What is the plan?

• It is part of the Government National 'Plan for Jobs' initiative.
• It creates job placements for 18-24 year old for those that are currently receiving Universal Credit or at risk of being long term unemployed.
• It meets the National Minimum wage guidelines
• Provides a 6 month placement and is for 25 hours per week
