Raunds War Memorial Centenary

Sat, 09 Oct 2021 11:00

This year marks 100 years since the unveiling of the Raunds War Memorial on the Town Square to honour and remember those who fell in the Great War.

Raunds Town Council will be holding a rededication ceremony at the Memorial Gardens by St Peter's Church, followed by a parade to the Town Square to unveil a plaque where the Memorial originally stood. The parade will be led by the Raunds Temperance Band, The Mayor and Councillors together with local schools, organisations, and residents.

There will also be an exhibition about the Raunds War Memorial and refreshments available at the Raunds Community Library after the unveiling.

If you would like to join us for the day, please arrive at the Memorial Gardens by 10.45am with the rededication ceremony commencing at 11am.

In the event of rain, we are hoping to use St Peter's Church as an alternative.
