We are pleased to advise that at our Annual Meeting of the Town Council on 12th May 2020 Councillor Sylvia Hughes was elected Town Mayor for the 2020/2021 Civic Year. Cllr S Hughes consort for her Mayoral year will be Cllr Dudley Hughes.

New Lighting for Rowans Estate

For sometime residents of the Rowans Estate have raised concerns regarding the steps leading from Willow Way to Thorpe Street. There was no lighting on the steps and residents were worried about their safety at night.

Highways England - A45 Chowns Mill - Road closure notification

Please be aware of our final (phase 1) planned week of night-time road closures for the A45 Chowns Mill roundabout:

From 18 May, there will be a permanent traffic management system in place (narrow lane running) throughout the junction, for the remainder of the construction period.

As traffic volumes are lower, we've closed some lanes around the A45 / A6 Chowns Mill junction. We've kept one lane open and will continue to review this arrangement. This single lane running will continue until 16 May.
