Gold Award for Raunds Town Council

Raunds Town Council are delighted to announce that they have become the first council in Northamptonshire to be awarded the Gold Standard, under the Local Council Award Scheme.

The National Association of Local Councils (NALC) scheme is open to around 10,000 Local Councils in England and Wales. The scheme celebrates the successes of the very best local councils.

There are three levels of award, Foundation, Quality and the top award of Gold. NALC describes councils who achieve the Gold Award as being "a council that is at the forefront of best practice and achieves excellence in governance, community leadership and council development. Quality Gold councils provide leadership for their communities, bring people together, have excellent business planning processes, ensuring value for money as well as constantly seeking new innovations and opportunities to improve. They highlight the very best we, as a sector, can achieve for our communities".

Nationally only 26 councils have achieved the gold level of award.

Cllr Helen Howell Mayor of Raunds said "We are absolutely delighted that Raunds Town Council has achieved the highest level, GOLD award. We are so proud to be one of only 26 out of 10,000 Councils to have achieved this. We have been recognised for our commitment over the last two years in enhancing all services, governance and improvements within the town. This award acknowledges the hard work and dedication that the Councillors and staff have given to improve our town. The Councillors are absolutely committed to making Raunds a better place to live, work, invest and visit.
