A busy Saturday for Raunds Mayor Cllr Richard Levell!

Saturday was a busy day for Cllr Richard Levell and his consort. In the morning they had their car washed by the staff and pupils at Windmill Primary School, together with members of the Police and Fire Brigade. The money raised was shared between Windmill School and the Fire Brigade's Charity. The highlight was one 5-year old, part of the car polishing squad, jumping up at the window to dab it with a cloth. Such enthusiasm! In the early afternoon, Cllr Levell opened the new all-weather play area and log cabin at Playmates Pre-School. More than 50 staff, parents and supporters attended to take advantage of the fine weather, the BBQ and the stalls, and watch the toddlers use the new play equipment. The new amenities were made available as a result of much hard work fundraising by staff, parents and friends, so well done to all. In the evening, Cllr and Magdalena Levell went to the Raunds Town Youth Football Club to present participation and achievement prizes to 7 teams aged 5 to 15. The function room at the Football Club was overflowing with the families and supporters of the players - youth football in Raunds is certainly alive and kicking!
