Community Orchard for Raunds
Work is continuing to create a community orchard (woodland walk) in Raunds. The Town Council have met with the Tree and Landscape Officer from East Northants Council to plan the site and layout.
The Orchard will be situated at the bottom of Amos Lawrence Playing Field and will include a large variety of trees including apples, pears, plums and lesser known fruits such as quince and mulberry.. Local schools and community groups are being invited to join the planting and ongoing maintenance of the area. The orchard will be open to all and anyone can go along and enjoy the fruits from the trees.
The area will also include benches, wildflower meadow and a mud kitchen for younger children to enjoy.
The project is planned for completion in January 2020.
Any community group who would like to get involved should contact the council email@example.com.
