It is with deep sadness that I have just learned of the death of His Royal Highness The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.
Prince Philip dedicated his life to service of our country - from a distinguished career in the Royal Navy during the Second World War, his various charitable works, to his many decades at Her Majesty The Queen's side as her Consort. Our thoughts and prayers are with Her Majesty and her family at this incredibly sad time.
The Union Flag at the Town Hall has been lowered to half mast and we have taken the decision to move the Annual Town Meeting to Thursday 22nd April 2021. The Full Town Council meeting will now be on Monday 26th April.
If you wish to leave a message of Condolence please visit Royal.uk. Members of the public may wish to consider making a donation to a charity of their choice, or one of The Duke of Edinburgh's Patronages in memory of His Royal Highness, instead of leaving floral tributes.
Cllr S Hughes, Mayor of Raunds
