Purple Lights for World Pancreatic Cancer Day
This evening, the the front of St Peters Church and the Town Hall will be lit up purple to show our support and raise awareness of pancreatic cancer.
The aim of this day is to break the silence around this cancer and raise awareness, and in doing so increase the survival rate of this disease. For those diagnosed in time for surgery their survival rating beyond 5 years increases 10 fold, showing understanding and recognising symptoms early on is of upmost importance.
