AGM and Mayor Making 2023
At the Annual General Meeting of Raunds Town Council on 9th May 2023 Councillor Paul Byrne was unanimously elected Town Mayor for the 2023/24 Civic Year.
On being elected, Cllr Byrne said "It's an honour and a privilege to be elected Mayor of Raunds and I express my sincere appreciation to my fellow Councillors for placing their trust in me and giving me this opportunity. I take the responsibility very seriously and commit to serving the people of Raunds to the best of my abilities. I would like to thank the outgoing Mayor, Richard Levell, and his consort Magdalena Levell, for all of their efforts for the past year and the achievements made to keep the town of Raunds a shining light within Northamptonshire. It is my intention to carry on this good work with enthusiasm and push forward and maintain the standards we have set for the town."
The Mayor's chosen charities to support for the year will be Raunds Foodbank and the Bone Cancer Research Trust.
Councillor Lee Wilkes was re-elected as Deputy Mayor for the 2023/24 Civic Year, with Cllr Helen Howell as his consort.
