2nd Raunds Beavers Evening

Recently the Beavers visited Raunds Town Hall, they were greeted by Cllr Paul Byrne, Mayor of Raunds for an evening of activities and learning about the Town Council.

The children were split into two groups, each group visited the council chamber where the Mayor explained the tiers of local government and what Raunds Town Council is responsible for.

The children tried on the Mayor's chain and carried out their own Council meeting in the council chamber.

Both groups completed an activity sheet including designing a Mayor's chain of office, where a winner of each group won a prize.
