Commonwealth Day 2024

The Mayor of Raunds, Councillor Paul Byrne, led a short service at the Town Hall this morning to mark Commonwealth Day 2024, in the 75th year of the Commonwealth of Nations.

Cllr Byrne opened the opened the service with a reading of the Commonwealth Day message from The Rt Hon Patricia Scotland KC, Commonwealth Secretary-General. The Deputy Mayor then read the Commonwealth Day Service of Celebration message from His Majesty King Charles III and the Town Clerk read the Commonwealth Affirmation.

The service concluded with a blessing from Ginny Pledger and the raising of the Commonwealth of Nations' Flag of Peace.
