Raunds Town Council Joins Forces with Northamptonshire Community Payback

Raunds Town Council is delighted to announce a new partnership with the Northamptonshire Community Payback team. This collaboration aims to create positive change within the community by providing meaningful opportunities for individuals undertaking community sentences.

Through this partnership, Raunds Town Council will work closely with the Community Payback team to identify suitable tasks that benefit the local area. These may include litter picking, graffiti removal, park maintenance, and supporting local community initiatives.

By involving individuals in community-based projects, the partnership aims to:

  • Reduce reoffending rates by providing constructive activities and skills development.
  • Enhance the local environment and improve the quality of life for residents.
  • Foster a sense of community responsibility and reparation.
  • Strengthen relationships between the community and those undertaking community sentences.

Councillor Paul Byrne, Mayor of Raunds, said "Through this partnership the Town Council will be offering a valuable opportunity for individuals to make amends for their actions and contribute positively to our community. By completing unpaid work, these individuals can not only rebuild their own lives but also help to improve the quality of life for our residents. It's a chance for them to give back and demonstrate their commitment to becoming productive members of society."

Diane Line, Community Payback Placement Coordinator, said "Working in partnership with the Town Council, unpaid work completed by people serving Community Orders benefits local projects and the community and helps them to become active and responsible contributors to their community".

The partnership is committed to ensuring that all participants are appropriately supervised and supported throughout their placements. The Community Payback team will provide the necessary training and guidance to individuals, while Raunds Town Council will offer supervision and support.
