Notification of essential maintenance works A14 - River Nene Bridge and sign repair works

We have been informed by National Highways of upcoming essential maintenance work on the A14 River Nene bridge, between junctions 12 and 13. The programme includes temporary mitigation works to the bridge joints.

These works are required to keep the bridge safe, whilst the closure will also be used to undertake sign repair work between junctions 12 and 13 to minimise disruption for road users.

When will this work take place?

The work will be carried out overnight, between 8pm and 6am, from 28 January 2025 to 3 February 2025.

In order to carry out this work safely, the A14 will be closed between junctions 10 and 13 as follows:

A14 westbound closed – 28, 29, 30 and 31 January

A14 eastbound closed – 31 January, 1, 2 and 3 February

What does this mean for you?

During the closures, a fully signed diversion will be in place.

Westbound – A14 J10>A6>A45>A14 J13

Eastbound – A14 J13>A45>A6>A14 J10

Access for emergency service vehicles will be maintained throughout.

Unforeseen circumstances or adverse weather conditions may mean changes.
