The A45 Chowns Mill Improvement Scheme.
Dear Customer,
National Highways wishes to advise drivers of their road closure programme for the A45 Chowns Mill Improvement scheme.
The closures are necessary to safely carry out remedial works to the roundabout, the works will be focussed on the A6 North (Irthlingborough) and the A5028 to address a few outstanding issues picked up during a recent road safety audit.

Notification of essential maintenance works on the A14
The Nation Highways will be carrying out essential maintenance work on the A14, between junctions 11 and 13 near Thrapston. Some of the work will also be on Denford Road/Midland Road, near to the A14 viaduct. Due to the adverse weather conditions and high winds last weekend, we've changed and re-scheduled our road closure plans, in order to safely carry out resurfacing works for the A45 / A6 Chowns Mill junction.

National Highways - A45 Chowns Mill - Revised road closure notification
National Highways wishes to advise drivers of the revised road closure programme for the A45 Chowns Mill Improvement scheme.
The changes are necessary to enable the programme to stay on track for completion. Postponing this weekend's planned closure will also avoid impacting on those attending organised events at the Nene Valley Festival at Stanwick Lakes.

Northamptonshire Highways
Northamptonshire Highways are intending on carrying out major drainage repairs and improvements along Brick Kiln Road, North Street and Rotton Row in Raunds. To undertake this safely will require that the roads are closed from the 13th July to the 23rd August 2021.

Urgent Drainage Works

Work has been delayed by a week due to adverse weather conditions and will now start on Monday 1st February.
Northamptonshire Highways are intending on carrying out urgent drainage investigation due to flooding issues on the above roads. To undertake this work safely will require that the road, between High Street and Elizabeth Close, will need to be closed for two days at off peak times... Read More »

Highways England - A45 Chowns Mill - Road closure notification
Please be aware of our final (phase 1) planned week of night-time road closures for the A45 Chowns Mill roundabout:
From 18 May, there will be a permanent traffic management system in place (narrow lane running) throughout the junction, for the remainder of the construction period.
(some occasional night works may still be required for safety and access reasons)

Progress report
As traffic volumes are lower, we've closed some lanes around the A45 / A6 Chowns Mill junction. We've kept one lane open and will continue to review this arrangement. This single lane running will continue until 16 May.
